                   Gate City Sheet Metal   Home

                                     Micro-Duct Systems

SpacePak is the central air-conditioning system of choice for homes unable to accommodate conventional systems: "ductless" homes heated with hot water, steam or electric radiant heat; older homes with limited space; and historical landmarks where architectural integrity must be preserved. This unique system is designed for simple installation and quiet, efficient operation.

Can be used to centrally cool structures where wet heat (steam or hot water), electric heat, or inade- quately sized conventional warm air systems are installed, for cooling or where the installation of sheet metal ducts would be expensive or difficult.

Distribution of air is by means of flexible, pre-insulated 2-inch (inside diameter) tubing which slides through wall structures and around obstructions.

The system utilizes 1/2 the volume of air used by conventional systems, and delivers it draft-free.

Has a deeper coil which can remove up to 25% more moisture from the air for cooling.

Each duct run has special sound attenuation materials which absorb airborne and regenerated noise to provide a quiet air conditioning system.

Is the least noticeable installation of any system. The only visible part inside the home is a small, white, disc-like terminator (one-seventh as large as the usual 8" ceiling diffuser). Blends with any decor. Conditioned air is delivered into the room through a small 2-inch opening.

Virtually eliminates major structural work, costly remodeling and redecorating, and disruption of household routine.

Standard system available in 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4 & 5 ton.

SpacePak is the original high velocity air conditioning system. Many of the most innovative and brightest ideas were used when the system was designed, and, as they are patented, are unique to SpacePak. Features such as the Kwik Connect connections, the attractive terminator plate, and the supply tubing are just many of the advantages inherent in the SpacePak system.

Features

The Kwik Connects allow the contractor to connect the 2" tubing to the main plenum and the terminators with the knowledge that they are secure for the future.

The 2" supply tubing is the heart of any high velocity system. Much like water pipes, this tubing can be run in your walls and floors, and, therefore, to have future problems with this tubing can be very costly to repair. The SpacePak tubing has been manufactured by the same machine (known as the "Whirley-Bird") since it was hand built in Germany in the 1950's. This tubing is a 3 ply spun aluminum core, wrapped with insulation and sleeved by a mylar backed foil covering. This superior construction is built to withstand the rigors of high pressure, fast moving air. Consider the plight of the rocky shore being eroded by the rushing river.

Each outlet can be controlled by using balancing orifice plates, adjustable dampers, or attractive winter shutoffs. The white terminator plates may be painted or wallpapered to match any decor.

The blower unit resides in the attic or crawl space. This part of the machine provides the cool air, so its construction is of ultimate importance. SpacePak is one of the largest manufacturers of high quality heating and air conditioning equipment in North America. SpacePak is built using some of the newest manufacturing techniques and the finest materials to provide the highest quality product available in the marketplace.
